President John Mahama announced on Thursday that the government has secured funding for a number of projects that the NDC promised to the people of the Central Region.
The President mentioned the new Kotokuraba market, Cape Coast Sports Stadium and the Komenda Sugar Factory as some of the projects whose funding is now in place. He said that the Indian government had offered to support Ghana to revive the Sugar Factory.
On the second day of his campaign in the region, the President assured the people there that his government is determined to fulfill all its development promises, adding that he will not disappoint them.
He implored electorate in the regionvote massively for the NDC so that it might retain power and so that the memory of the late President Mills, who hailed from the region, might be honored.
Apart from assuring Central Region voters of his administrationís plans to revive industries established in the region by the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah that have since collapsed, President Mahama also urged people in local fishing communities to continue placing their faith in the government.
He said his administration remains committed to the welfare of fishermen in the country and will stop at nothing to make their lives and jobs less stressful.
