The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has described as redundant the writ filed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice Francis Kpegah who is accusing Ghana's opposition leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, of impersonation.
People are fast to condemn Kpegah. However, we should note that he is the most senior judge in the four-corners of Ghana. NO judge is more senior than him. So we need to give him some respect. If we are to match credentials with credentials, I do not think a person like Kwaku Baako would be in a position to stomach Kpegah, let alone stand him. So I would rather want to state that Kwaku Baako's claim is tentatively a simplistic claim by an uninitiated individual. Let us wait for Kpegah to meet Akufo-Addo's legal team in court on this matter and see how it would unfold. I am very sure that there is more to it than just a change of name. I am sure there are more serious and highly destructive matters that comes with his acceptance of the fact that he is the same W. E. D. Akufo-Addo. The Oxford matter and other incidents can always come up.

Capt Ninepence, I wonder what you as a person would have become if you happened to be a school drop out like Kwaku Baako as you rightly put it. Think about it.

Those around our oldman Kpegah should start doing their work or intensify it (if they have already started) before we hear the worse from him. Obviously the learned old judge may be having some challenges otherwise he cannot be carrying himself like he is doing currently...........

I thought we live in a country believing in rule of all.Where people who feel so concern about our politics and the legal practice can go to the appropriate place in this case the law court for a redress.supringly the rule of law in this case is thrown to the dogs.

Is it an offense to use two passports with different passport numbers? W.A.D Akuffo Addo is not the same as Nana Akuffo Addo. If W.A.D Akuffo Addo is the same as Nana Akuffo Addo then our identification system is really bad. No wonder people can possess more than one passport in Ghana.

So is this the man who calls himself a supreme court judge. Did he take pains and I mean extra pains to scrutinise the academic and legal background of Nana. He is just going to make himself a laughing stock and will win the disrespect of the entire ghanaian populace for this stupid writ. I also want to appeal to the judicial council to examine such wrots and throw them out before it tarnishes the image of the council. I am wondering how Kpegah presided over cases which had Nana on the legal team years ago. He has demonstrated his hate and envy of Nana. I though judges retire honorably on their salaries and Kpegah will do same but it seems he is being manipulated by some forces. Please this will definitely backfire. The court should award huge costs against him cos its already a lost case

you dont need to be an intelligent person to realize that the NDC is using the poor retired judge to divert attention and to delay the law suit against the EC. Agbakpe, open you eyes and ears and never again write like that about the living encyclopedia Kweku Baako.
Mar 21, 2013 19-17
Agbapke or whatever your name is, for how long have you lived in this country? So pathetic how you describe Kweku Baako!!! Please do well to listen to him anytime and everytime he speaks and learn SENSE from it to reduce your stupidity and blindness. You are living in a country where your govt cannot even address water and electricity crisis, and you are parading yourself as satisfied - how blind you are. Aaahhh Agbakpe, your comment makes me vomit!

From the comments that have come up on this story since it came out, is it worth it to spend time and money on it at the court? Do our courts have nothing to do? There is an important case pending at the courts to determine whether or not President Mahama won the 2012 presidential elections. This is very important and the courts must spend time and energy to rule on it as soon as possible, and should not spend time on cases like this one which have no basis.

I think it might be true because when you look at the list of members of the middle temple english bar you only find Akuffo Addo's father's name. Check it out. and you will find out that his name is not on the list

I am rather getting confused by all those commenting on this issue. So far nobody has come out to debunk the claim, al what i read are insults and emotional outburst. I dont have a position on the issue. i have an open mind and think it will better that all the commentators speak to the issue

It is most unfortunate and regrettabley if a ritired judge can speak like this ,then Ghana and for that matter NDC members are blind. Why cant you challange his credibility when you were an active judge with him for so many cases brought before your? His image cant be washed off no matter how much your NDC party give you to run him down it wont work at all. Nana is one of the pillers in Ghana law court of the land or any rule a society can think off: either you like him or not He is a leading member both aspect of the land. However if our mother land Ghana is going to be govern like a comical, it is most unfortunate and regrettably. Henace THE BATTLE IS STILL THE LORD ALMIGHY.

Justice Kpegah is a retired supreme court judge. Judges of the superior courts retire on their full salary. Receiving a salary while not working triggers a need to salve conscience by putting yourself to useful rewarding 'work'. This is what the retired Justice seeks to do, which is desirable to prevent senility setting in. His choice of subject is rather bizarre.
If Nana Akufo Addo appeared four times before him at the supreme court, and he failed at those times to question the standing of the lawyer appearing before him, and 'dialogued' with him as a lawyer of relevant standing, then the remarks by Kweku Baako may indeed be justified. Justice Kpegah should do an introspection and scan his utterances before delivering them to the public. A supreme court judge, current or retired, should under no circumstance make himself subject of public ridicule or abuse. I am sorry for Justice Kpegah.

May I say that the lernened oldman is suffering from oldage problem(ANDROPAUSE) else he cannot say somebody who has stood before you can deny you. This is part of the agenda to tarnish Nanas image and it will not work .Being an old supreme should rather think of how justice could be strengthened instead of indulging himself in this infantile decoy.
Mar 21, 2013 12-04
In fact retired Justice Kpegah is simply hallucinating, when he sees tree he says is car and when he sees human beings he says building. Where is his morality and integrity? factually, he should be advised to sleep for long hours to clear some of his blur visions.

I blame former president Mills for the disgrace this man is bringing to the party for failure to give him any appointment after his protest resignation from supreme court because president Kufour did not appoint him as chief justice. Imagine what or how the supreme court would had been had he been appointed. DISGRACE POTOOOO. Thanks to God for given former president kufour knowledge and courage not to appoint him. Tell him whether Nana becomes president in future or not he will never practice again so he should not worry whether he calls himself a lawyer or not. I Will end by entreating ALL GHANAIANS lawyers and non lawyers to read all judgments j. Kpegah as supreme court judge you will know when he started this crusade.
