A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legal team has descended heavily on the General Secretary of the ruling party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia describing him as a "professional liar" who is bent on misrepresenting facts in the ongoing election petition before the Supreme Court.
Lawyer Gloria Akuffo said the untoward behaviour of General Mosquito, as he is popularly known, only confirms the sinister activities by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Johnson Asiedu Nketia has incurred the wrath of the NPP for suggesting that the party seem unprepared to start the case in which the flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo and two others are challenging the legitimacy of President John Mahama.
He made the comment shortly after the Supreme Court adjourned hearing in the substantive case of the election petition to April 17 to enable the Electoral Commission (EC) file its written affidavits and serve the petitioners accordingly.
The NDC scribe likened the conduct of the NPP in court to "JSS pupils" who are not prepared to write an examination.
However, on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Gloria Akuffo said General Mosquito over the years has gained notoriety for propagating blatant lies even if the truth stares him right in the face.
She intimated that the shameful and unprofessional behavior of the NDC scribe with regards to the election petition should be condemned in no uncertain terms.
Lawyer Gloria Akuffo explained that the court adjourned the case to enable all parties have access to the affidavits to ensure equity and fairness in the trial.
She conceived that the conduct of Asiedu Nketia has the tendency of inflaming passions on both sides if not curtailed.
"Aseidu Nketia is a blatant lair; his profession in this world is to use vile propaganda to deceive all Ghanaians so he should be ignored" she exclaimed.
This not withstanding, Gloria Akuffo assured Ghanaians that the NPP is more prepared to face the NDC squarely in court.
